Network Clients
Below is a list of organizations and individuals whom I've helped to create solid, reliable, secure network solutions.
- Rapid City Memorial Christian School
MCS is a local private school that has at least one computer in every classroom (seven classrooms) and uses an intranet to track circulation of their library. They connect to the Internet through a broadband service and use Windows clients. The Internet router also services the church office's network with around five more client computers. - Rapid City First Wesleyan Church
First Wesleyan is a local church with a small office network and a tight budget. Their needs were simple with only five client machines, but they also needed help securing broadband Internet service and setting up local wireless access for three laptops that needed be mobile within the church. In addition, they chose to protect their network's web access by using web content filtering solutions. - Rapid City Stanley Steemer
Stanley Steemer is a popular carpet cleaning service in the Midwest and they are currently increasing their use of computers for billing and scheduling purposes. Their requirements were very basic since they only have five machines and connect to the Internet through a modem. But, they didn't want to drop a lot of money into their network before it really becomes necessary to operate their business. - CSN International Remote Operator
Jerry Johnson is an operations and logistics person for CSN International--a Christian, non-profit organization that manages local FM radio affiliates. Because of their business' reliance on the Internet for collaboration, Jerry needed a high-speed, reliable, secure connection to the Internet. After securing a broadband service from a local ISP, I used a PC with FreeBSD to give him the option of cheaper broadband hardware (internal card instead of an external broadband bridge). In addition, this PC serves as a router to a local, Windows-based network.
Besides these solutions, I've also consulted many people in networking and IT solutions. I've done everything from single-computer installations and training, to consulting a regional ISP in the use of license-free, wide-area implementations of broadband Internet service through subscriber-based and point-to-point wireless solutions using off-the-shelf 802.11 hardware and microwave radio equipment.
